Seeming slightly irritated by her response, Seb stepped away from the bars and sat down in front of the tray of food. He grabbed the bread from the tray and tore a piece off with his fingers, popping it into his mouth. "I haven't done anything wrong though, if you hadn't noticed," he responded after chewing, a hint of sarcasm dripping into his voice as he parroted her words back to her. "My imprisonment is the result of Alaric's unfounded fear and inability to listen to his daughter." He had no qualms saying such things about the king; Alaric wasn't his ruler, and in recent weeks he was a man that Seb had come to neither like nor respect.
He continued eating silently for a minute, mulling over her question about Wolfgang. "I've never really liked my brother, and things have certainly been complicated between us recently, but he's the only family I have left... Of course I'd care if he dies. You'll advocate for him at the trial then?"

Evadne smiled wryly as Sebastian riposted her comment and gave an approving nod. "Yes, I'll advocate for him. And for you, of course. Though you will likely have to stay here until Wolfgang's trial is over. Once I know his fate, I can work on improving yours." Evadne snapped her fingers and Hux rose to his feet. "I believe those are all the questions I have for you. Do you have any for me?"

Seb picked at the bread for a moment, feeling a strange sense of relief that this woman would be there during the trial. She was a scientist, and to him, that was a comfort; science was logical and didn't play on emotion. He was glad there would be someone at the trial to bring that rationality, someone who wouldn't be driven by grief, hatred, disgust, or a combination of these, like most other people in that room.
Hearing the sound of her snap her fingers, he looked up at her from where he sat on the floor. "When will you return?"

"As soon as the trial is over. I will bring you news of the outcome, and hopefully, we'll get you out of here then." Evadne offered him a confident smile. "I'll instruct the guards to ensure you get proper meals and clothing and cleanliness. It was a pleasure to meet you," She nodded to him and turned, sweeping out of the prison with Hux trotting behind her.
