Penny was already coming up with things they could do while they were out of the castle. She had seen one of the gypsies juggling some brightly coloured balls, maybe he would teach them how to do the same! Or potion making or tarot reading or.... so many possibilities.
As Xerxes left, Penny heard the leaves rustle and she looked up to meet Faolan's gaze, smiling brightly even as he glared down at her with those big eyes. "Did you hear that? We'll get to play together again! And I can practice my flying!"
So excited was she at the prospect of being out of her cage, even for a little while, Penny didn't realise what she had just said. The talk of flying could have been passed simply as a child's imagination running wild, but to the very few that knew her secret, flight was a very real concept for Penelope. Even the mention of flying caused Penny's wings to strain against the bindings that held them firmly against her back, causing her to squirm with some discomfort.

Evolet's grin faded as Penny said such an odd thing, and she looked up as well. Was the girl seeing something, or someone?
"What are you talking about? Flying?" The princess tilted her head curiously, stroking her pet raven as he ruffled his feathers, showing some signs of discomfort.

The owl's eyes narrowed slightly and he turned his head to look around. So they were a secret. The Princess didn't know about Penny or her wings? He did need to teach her how to use them... especially since it definitely seemed like no one here would. No one else had seemed to hear Penny's excited words, so he turned back to the girls, watching them speak about Penny's secret. Now though, he was glaring at Evolet instead, daring her to speak I'll of Penny or her wings. She was special, not a freak.

Penny clamped her mouth shut, now realizing what she had blurted out. She had been so excited at the prospect of being free for a few days that she hadn't thought about who knew her secret and who didn't.
"Um. Kite flying! That's what I meant. There was a gypsy lady we came across who was making these wonderful and colorful kites and I want to learn how to make one fly!" It wasnt the best lie, but hopefully it was convincing enough to keep Evolet from prying too much, for now anyways.
Penny glanced up at Faolan again however, a mischievous glint in her eyes as she thought about the antics they could get in to.

Her smile grew again as Penny quickly offered up an explanation that the princess could palate. "That sounds lovely!" She smiled, rising to her feet. The skirts of her dress swished gently as she did, and she leaned down to place a kiss on Penny's head. "I'll send for you when it's time to go. Stay out of trouble until then, all right?" She straightened up and Tristis took to the air, following her as she returned to the palace.

Faolan huffed a little, watching Penny quickly lie to appease the princess. Evolet left and the owl turned back to Penny, mind churning. He'd be around, hopefully Penny got the idea. No reason to sit here all day though. It was time he returned to the Hearth to check on some things. He'd return to the castle soon enough though, and hopefully catch Penny another time. He cooed softly before taking off.
