Caspian reveled in the feel of Roman's hands against his own, waiting patiently for him to work through his thoughts. This softer side of Roman was absolute reassurance that they could work through this without running out on each other. It wouldn't be easy, but he couldn't see himself walking away from this man and never seeing him again.
When Roman placed the decision making power in his hands, he took it in stride, "I think we both have a lot to think about," Caspian began, meeting his gaze adamantly, "We have a lot to learn about each other, and I want to take the time to do that." He squeezed his fingers subconsciously, "I want you to absorb everything that's happened with a clear mind, and I will do the same. Once you've done that...I think you'll know what to do," he assured him and then paused before continuing, "I need to go home. My animals depend on me." Emotion stirred in his eyes over the guilt of (unwillingly) abandoning his companions for so long- it was a part of his life that Roman had no idea about, "But that doesn't mean that this- we -have to end. I don't want us to end."

Even though Roman knew that Caspian was going to leave, and rationally he had every right to leave, it still hurt. He didn’t really have a right to feel hurt, though, because he had illegally imprisoned Caspian. And even though Caspian said he didn’t want to end whatever was between them, Roman felt like it was the end. It was incredibly selfish, but the difference between now and when he had first met Caspian is that he respected Caspian enough to let him walk away, even if it meant never seeing him again.
But he didn’t say any of that. He nodded along, giving Caspian’s hands a soft squeeze before dropping them. He didn’t know what Caspian expected of him, but he was going to be disappointed because Roman couldn’t imagine a situation in which he would magically know what to do.
“Take a left at the end of the hallway, and there should be some guards in that area. They’ll be able to escort you out.” Roman tan a hand through his hair, trying to look everywhere but at Caspian. He had never been any good at saying goodbyes. He started move towards the door, to open it for Caspian, but stopped halfway and turned back around to face him, “You never told me where you lived. Unless you don’t me to find you.”

Caspian frowned as Roman pulled away from him, getting the sense that the man was not satisfied with how they were departing. But he had to go. He'd been in the castle for far too long. He needed to reassert his freedom and make sure that their relationship could continue on a healthier path. Roman might've doubted himself, but Caspian had faith.
"Return to the spot that we first met," he began, prepared to reveal the location of his farm. It was something he rarely did, but he truly wanted Roman to find him. "Follow the road south. When it forks, turn right. By then you'll be in neutral territory," he moved slowly toward Roman, holding his gaze, "You'll pass some smaller farms, but keep going. When you spot wildflowers, you're close. A large oak tree will point you in the right direction. You won't miss it," he promised, pausing between Roman and the door.
"Don't keep me waiting too long," he added, knowing that if Roman didn't show up, he was bound to return to Raevaryn against his better judgement.
