He could hardly believe his ears. And while Fenris was being more cautious in his approach, Fell knew it was something they both wanted to be a part of. "Would she accept us as her servants, if we were not chosen by the Wendigo?" Fell questioned, and tore off a piece of his rabbit, offering it to Ember, wondering if she would take it from his hands. He watched Derric with wide, curious eyes. Fell had a child like quality to his spirit despite the fact that he looked like a rugged, hardened warrior.

“At any cost, but she protects me. Do you need the proof? I’d be a skeptic as well,” Derric mused as he took off his coat and pulled down his blouse to reveal the scarring around his shoulder. It would have looked as if some sort of canine would have bit him, but it was larger than any wolf or bear. Even Ember’s jaws wouldn’t have matched and he had plenty of scars from her doing on his body. Ember let out a deep rumble of approval, she could hunt on her own, but cooked meat added a flavor she couldn’t resist. Her prickled tongue lapped at the juices once the meat was gone from Fell’s hand, the beast showing her size once she stood, a beast not to be reckoned with. “Loyalty is all we have, and as you see many men break it. I’m but a humble servant to Velka. With her guidance I’m unstoppable, I can show you once you have both proven your faith.” Derric added more sticks to the fire, nonchalant about the discussion. He knew he had won them over already.

Louisa had been following Derric off and on for a few days now, utilizing her powers of invisibility to remain unnoticed. She'd also been careful to stay far enough away that Ember wouldn't catch her scent, but as she had heard the other two men approach the fire and begin to talk with Derric, she had crept closer than usual to overhear the details of the conversation. Her anger spiked at the mention of a past lover of Derric's; he should be hers alone, though, she reminded herself, he didn't know this and couldn't be blamed for making such a mistake. Slowly, the anger dissipated, and she became curious as they began to discuss Velka. Fell's question of whether him and his brother could be accepted as her followers was one Louisa also shared, as it would be a way to get closer to Derric, considering he didn't visit the Gypsy camp very often anymore.
Coming to a decision, she flipped off her invisibility, as easily as someone might relax a tensed muscle, and stepped out of the shelter of the trees to reveal herself. "Pardon the eavesdropping boys, but what does one do to prove their faith?" To Derric, she might look vaguely familiar from times he had seen her around the Gypsy camp, but they had never really spoken before.

"What do you ask of us to prove our loyalty?" Fenris began to inquire, but was interrupted bu the sudden appearance of Louisa. He reached for the handle of his ax, but relaxed when he saw it was merely a woman. "And who the hell are you?" he grumbled, turning his eyes back toward the fire with disinterest. She was obviously bold if she was approaching a group of three men and a tiger, all on her own. Whatever she wanted from them, Fenris wouldn't be offering anything up.

Again as if connected, both he and the tiger quickly faced Louisa, his hand on his hilt and hackles raised ever so slightly. Derric placed a calming hand on his companion before he himself relaxed. “A shrine, an offering,” he had a wicked look in his eyes for a mere second as he looked the woman over. However he wouldn’t dare offer someone who was curious quite yet. “She likes men of action,” he began as he slowly stepped forward to the fellow Gypsy though he was speaking to the men by the fire. “We build her a worthy shrine and I’ll take care of the rest, then you’ll see and share the same blessings I have gained.” He stopped about a foot in front of Louisa, arms folding over his chest, wordlessly demanding her reasoning for her presence. There was something familiar about her but he was positive he had never spoken to the woman before. Ember was at his side, ever threatening despite being docile at the moment.

Fell listened intently, and focused on Louisa as she made her appearance. He flashed her a charming grin, not as unfriendly as the other two men. He finished off his rabbit, "Well then. What sort of shrine does your goddess demand? Wood, steel, gold?" Fell mused, reclining easily against a log, soaking up the warmth of the fire. He knew both he and his brother were invested now. If an altar was all that was demanded, it was a small price to pay. He and Fenris had been building structures since they were old enough to haul materials. It would feel good to use his hands for creation again.

Louisa briefly glanced over the other two men, taking in Fenris's dismissal and Fell's charming smile, then returned her gaze to Derric as he approached her. She lifted the longbow in her left hand, holding it up as if for inspection, and nodded at the quiver slung over her shoulders. "Hunting," she said briefly, lifting her gaze to meet Derric's eyes. Indeed, the bag strapped to her back contained the carcasses of the two rabbits she had shot shortly before this. Louisa wasn't stupid. She had known she would need to explain her presence, and she was prepared. "If you don't want to attract attention, maybe don't light a fire and speak so loudly in the midst of a dark, quiet forest."

Fenris chuckled slightly at her response, “It is a fair point. And your name?” He asked casually, breaking a twig in two and tossing it into the flames, still thinking about what Derric had said. He needed something bigger than himself, bigger than his brother even, to strive for.

“Wood and stone will suffice for now, though we will naturally grow and give her something more... pleasurable.” Derric knew the true sacrifice was blood but he did not want to unnerve his soon to be loyal followers. He looked the woman up and down intensely, the smallest smirk moving over his lips, “A fair point, but I want the forest dwellers to hear me and this opportunity.” He gestured for Louisa to join them at the fire as he returned to his seat on one of the logs. Ember moved around the campfire, stopping to inspect each of them before resting yet again at Derric’s side.

In the shadows of the forest, Hikari quietly made her way between the trees. She was between missions and needed a night to enjoy the darkness of the forest where she felt comfortable. As she walked she soon noticed a flicker of flames in the distance, brow tasing in curiosity. Her petite form silently approached the small clearing, but at the sound of multiple voices she decided to stay close to the shadows until she was able to scan the area and the people. She pulled the shadows close to her form and listened to the conversation between the group. Her chocolate eyes filled with curiosity and her thoughts filled with questions. Who were they creating a shrine for? She knew of the gods, goddesses and spirits her culture believed in; though she had not heard much of the ones here. Her form leaned against a nearby tree, looking over each person and the tiger within the group. A small smirk forming on her lips at the woman’s comment, she had a fair point. Though the man’s remake made her brow raise and stated from the darkness, “I suppose it does sound like an interesting opportunity one would want to share.” She stepped forward, releasing the shadows she held close, and walked towards the group. Her dark gaze glanced behind her and gave a soft smile to the shadows, beckoning her partner to join. A moment later a dark form started to take shape from the shadows until a small dragon appeared, wrapping itself around Hikari so it could rest on her shoulders.

Fell could hardly believe the women who seemed so keen on joining them in their endeavour. What had started as a simple fire between three had nearly doubled in size, and Fell was filled with a sense of relief and the desire to protect them all. He was starving for the companionship of a tribe again, and while Fenris was his brother, he wasn’t always the most pleasant person to be around. “I wish to swear myself to the goddess. I will help you build the altar and bring more into the fold,” he promised Derric, eyeing Hikari. “And who are you?”

The way Derric observed her with such intensity sent pinpricks up her spine and made her stomach tighten. She wanted him to do more than look at her. When he cast that smirk at her, Louisa returned it with a charming smile, feeling an almost smug sense of satisfaction when he gestured for her to join them. This was the first step, in her mind, toward having him. As she stepped over to the fire and sank down to the ground, the light illuminated her fully and now betrayed her youth. She cast a glance toward Fenris. "Louisa Vaughn. And you are?"
Her attention, however, was quickly diverted by the sudden appearance of another woman, and instantly, she was on edge, her body tensing. She didn't want other women around Derric. Her gaze shifted quickly to him, waiting to see what he would do.

"Fenris Shield-Breaker," He grunted his name, watching as another emerged from the trees. Derric would certainly be pleased, if his aim was to recruit for the goddess he served. He rubbed his jaw and nodded to Hikari, allowing his brother to do the talking. He poked a stick into the fire, stirring the logs around, and tossed more on to enliven the blaze.

As Fenris predicted, Derric was visibly pleased by yet another soon to be follower joining the by the fire. “I take it you’ve eavesdropped enough to take interest in this union?” He scanned over Hikari and over the dragon around her shoulders, greeting it as well mentally. With more companions to build trust with Viridi’s creatures, they would easily have a decent sized group to raid the townsfolk of Nethilor at this rate. He mulled over who would be a good sacrifice for Velka at first, coming to a decision as soon as the thought popped into his head. They’d start with a decent town member to show their commitment, then move up to one of the royal courts. He wanted both the King’s attention but for now, Nethilor’s would suffice. By then they would be unstoppable. The thought process showed in his eyes, matching the renewed fire in front of him. He looked up expectantly at Hikari, awaiting to learn her name while taking note of Louisa. She was young and appeared alone for the most part, especially for being with the Gypsies which meant to Derric that he could possibly get her to imprint on him. Unaware of her intentions, he acted on his own and moved closer towards Louisa just enough for their shoulders to slightly touch and to make room for Hikari at the fire.

“Yes, enough,” She responded to Derric with a slight shrug of her shoulders, being careful of Yamiyo. She had heard enough to be interested in the group slowly forming but her decision to join completely still remained to be seen, she hadn’t been in a group since she lost her master back home. Her dark eyes watched as Derric moved closer to Louisa to give her space to sit with them and glanced between the two curiously, her brow raising a bit at Louisa’s tensed form. She then joined the circle around the fire and decided it best to sit closer to the one who spoke to her first, not wanting to cause the young girl to become even more uncomfortable by her presence. She nodded to Fenris in greeting as she sat before her dark chocolate gaze landed on Fell. “I’m Hikari Akatsuki,” She stated then looked to her shoulder and smiled softly at the small dragon relaxing on her as she reached up to gently scratch under his chin before continuing, “and this little one is Yamiyo.” The small dragon squeaked delightedly and leaned into Hikari’s touch, enjoying any attention it could get in his small form. Yamiyo’s slender form then crawled down from Hikari’s shoulder to her lap and curled into a ball, making sure he could still view the other forms around the fire as Hikari rested her hand on his back. Her smile slowly faded as she looked back to Fell, her gaze surveying his form and the intriguing tattoos upon his face as she asked curiously, “and who might you be?”
