It felt incredibly good to have gained Lennox's trust. Her gratitude and promises only added to the high he was feeling; a high that was better than any drug. Her confirmation gave him confidence for the future, for his plans, and for his happiness. More than that, he liked Lennox, perhaps more than he'd ever liked someone before. She gave him purpose, responsibility, and comfort; all things he'd lacked in his childhood.
Xander allowed the hug to stretch on for several long moments before he finally pulled away. She looked so content now compared to the sickly state she had been in moments before. It was a dangerous game, he realized, to have such power over her. But he would never mention that. Rather, he would be there for her, and she for him.
"You already have," he pointed out, though he would have no qualms about her helping him. They were in a partnership now, as far as he was concerned, "Thanks to you, I can find out what Bo has gotten himself into." He should go soon, he realized, before the sketchy individuals that ran the Kingdoms had their way with him.

Cold air filled the space where Xander had been and she wrapped her arms around herself when he pulled away. She tossed the idea of offering her help with whatever he was going to do with Bo, but decided against it. The fire of jealousy only burned hotter now that she was truly committed to Xander and she didn’t like the idea of saving someone else. He had offered Lennox a glimpse at the acceptance and intimacy that she craved and she was a little bummed that he was just going to up and leave.
Still, she couldn’t be mad. Lennox was still riding the high of Xander’s acceptance and that would save him from her jealous wrath this time. She pushed her thoughts aside and tried to remember what she had seen. She didn’t really care what happened to Bo but she was eager to prove she was helpful. “The castle... they went in a back door. It’s old and there are vines everywhere and it doesn’t like it’s meant to be used. The man had to really pull on the door because it was sort of stuck. And then down the hallway, there’s a big room on the right with sheets over the furniture. And then on the left, it’s the third closed door.” The memories came back to her and it was strange to realize that she had never actually been to this castle or down that hallway.
The realization of him leaving triggered Lennox’s fear of abandonment and she was suddenly nervous that he would just leave her here. If he did, she had no idea how to get out. She probably wouldn’t even try, she would rather die in this cavern than wander around catacombs where the dead rested.
“You’ll come back?” She asked, big brown eyes staring up at him.

Xander listened to the description she offered, committing it to memory. The vines led him to believe it was Raevaryn castle, which had been his first instinct, anyway. Nethilor didn't seem the type to condone kidnapping children. The gears began visibly working as he formulated a plan. He had always been good at sneaking around, and Brogan had taught him a thing or two about reconnaissance. This rescue mission would just be another way to test his skills and secure Bo's undying loyalty. Perhaps he should thank the asshole who'd messed with his friend.
Xander blinked, refocusing on Lennox as she prompted him, "Of course I'll come back," he assured her. He reached out to give her hand a squeeze, leaving her with one last touch to hang on to before he left, "I'll be back soon. Stay here, eat, rest, you'll be safe," he promised. Rising from the bed, he backed toward the door, watching her, "Don't miss me too much," he mused, offering her a wink before he slipped out the door.
He thought it best not to prolong the goodbye. He was curious to see what kind of state she'd been in upon his return, and find out just how much she actually needed him. He set off into the catacombs, his mind set on the rescue at hand.
