Alister wore a finely trimmed, slightly patterned black suit with long tails and a puffy emerald green kerchief tucked into his high collar. His dark hair was perfectly styled and coiffed, and his eyes gleaming with anticipation. The day was finally here. He was to wed his foreign princess and unite their kingdoms. For the major event, dignitaries from her country had been invited, as well as many nobles from Raevaryn and Nethilor alike. It was peace time now, and with another looming royal wedding that would create a link between their kingdoms, Alister believed he was safe. Tonight would be a night of tradition, wild revelry, and merriment. It didn't bother him in the least that he was marrying a woman he didn't love. Love, in Alister's mind, had nothing to do with marriage. His heart belonged to Nadia, and he didn't have to marry her to prove that to anyone. She knew it. He hoped seeing this event would not hurt her too much. As he waited at the alter in front of the thrones, a bishop from the church of the gods and a representative of Yasmin's people waited also to unite them through royal and godly ceremony. The throne room was ornately decorate with exotic flowers and gorgeous candles and lavish tapestries. In the dining hall adjunct to the room was an exorbitantly expensive feast piled high with wild game, breads, cheeses, wines, and desserts of all kinds. The castle was open to many for the event, and the nobles and dignitaries spilled in, pressing close together to get a spot. It was packed. And in the courtyard below, the walls had been open to allow the peasants and lesser houses to come and celebrate outside. The music began, signalling to all the a marriage was about to begin.

Ari stood at attention in her armor, her hair tied back in a no nonsense braid. Her wolf was not inside the throne room, but rather patrolling the halls and the court down below. She was absolutely astonished by the sheer extravagance of the event. But then again, it was a royal wedding and the blending of two very different cultures. She stood at attention, her eyes scouring the crowd as the music began.

Poppy was one of the nobles who had come from Nethilor. She sat, prim and proper and elegant in a gorgeous blush pink gown trimmed with gold lace. Her jet black hair was done up in an elegant twist intertwined with gold plated leaf hair piece. To be honest, Poppy had come to try to find herself a husband in the crowd of people who had appeared. Her feelings for Evolet were suffocating and she needed to find something with which to distract herself. And on top of that, she was aging and it was expected that people of her age had husbands at this age.

Evolet had also come to enjoy the ceremony, deciding it would be the proper thing to do to show the goodwill of Nethilor, and the anticipated peace between them. Furthermore, she would see Wolfgang here. She did truly enjoy his company, and was looking forward to entering into a partnership with him that would see their kingdoms thrive. She sat near the front, watching it all unfold with shining eyes as Yasmin walked down the aisle to meet her groom. Alister was truly a handsome man, she would concede.

Blythe was dressed in her signature flowing gown, gold and silver adorned in the light. Her face was unreadable, her mood still soured by Bram's attitude towards her, and after she had been honest too. He had scared her. She took her seat, Sashka at her feet. The dog senses the mage's unease, and was on alert while Blythe absently glanced about, petting the dog.

Wolfgang strode side by side with Terrowin into the wedding hall, though he kept his hands at his sides to keep up the facade that they were in a strictly platonic working relationship. Unfortunately, he had yet to share the news with anyone that he planned to renege his offer of marriage to Evolet. He figured that the news could wait until at least one wedding managed to pull through. He sat beside Evolet and offered both her and her father a polite smile before turning his attention toward the dignified young king, "Quite the handsome devil, isn't he?" he murmured to his seat companions, though his gaze began to drift distractedly over his shoulder until he locked eyes with Sebastian. He had yet to make amends with his little brother and it pained him.

Nadia had become but a shadow on the wall for the wedding. She wore a dark green dress, not quite Raevaryn emerald, but more of a color that allowed her to blend into the decor and not draw attention. She stood among the important guests from her homeland, but felt exceptionally out of place among them. Somehow, she had managed to find herself directly in Alister's line of sight, behind where Yasmin would stand when the ceremony began. With only her vibrant green eyes visible from beneath her scarf, she stared unwaveringly at the king. She had begun to change during the weeks leading up to the wedding. She'd grown more sure of herself and more distant from the queen. This kingdom had taught her to think selfishly, and she found that she liked it.

Destrian stood directly across from Ari in a matching set of armor. Though he occasionally couldn't help but steal looks at his woman, he was generally focused on the crowd, seeking any potential disturbances as people filtered into the room. He hated crowds and parties and music and, well, people. But this kind of event was a breeding ground for disaster and many guards were necessary.

Sebastian tried to hide the distinct discomfort he felt when he saw his brother enter the room, a discomfort which only grew when Wolfgang sat down just a few rows away from him. Typically, he would be bemoaning the fact that he had needed to wear a tie and flirting with the pretty girl sitting next to him. Right now, all he could think about was how close his brother was to him. When Wolfgang turned to look back at him, he quickly looked away, breaking the brief moment of eye contact. His mind, try as he might to stop it, flashed back to that night a few months prior; while his physical wounds had healed, there remained a lingering fear of his brother that would probably always be there. As the music cued up, he turned, like everyone else, to watch Yasmin walk down the aisle. The distraction she provided, however, was minimal.
As the head mage of Raevaryn and someone who knew Alister well, Bram was seated in the front row of chairs. He was clean and dressed appropriately for the event, but he looked unwell: there were dark circles around his eyes, his skin seemed just a shade too pale, and his expression held no sense of happiness. He didn't engage in the idle chit chat that those around him did before the ceremony began, having no interest in speaking to them. Frankly, those seated around him seemed to regard him with a sense of unease and weren't particularly upset that he didn't strike up a conversation. As the music began, he shifted to watch Yasmin walk down the aisle, but nothing in his demeanor changed.

"Quite handsome," Evolet agreed as Wolfgang spoke, keeping her voice to a low murmur. Yasmin had reached Alister by now, and the ceremony had begun. It was lovely, but definitely traditional and very stuffy in feeling, as any sort of royal doing was wont to be. Evolet look beautiful in a low cut navy blue gown that bared her shoulders. Her blazing red hair fell in loose waves down her shoulders, her crown upon her head. The night seemed happy and full of promise, and for once the young princess could not wait to dance the night away.
Talion also paced, in charge of the security for the evening. He was still reeling from his encounter with Bram and Blythe, and was ignoring them both at this moment on a personal level, although on a professional level, he was monitoring them closely for another potential blow up that would alter the course of this wonderful evening.

Terrowin was wearing a simple but lovely gown she'd purchased specifically for the occasion. It was a dark purple, and her blonde hair looked like gold against it. Her hair was tied in a thick braid, fresh flowers woven in. It was clear she wasn't the usual sort of woman one would see here, but her affiliation with Wolfgang had purchased her an invitation and a good seat. She breathed in deeply as Yasmin entered. She was absolutely stunning.
Poppy watched the display happily, wishing that was her up there. Perhaps one day she would find true love.
Alister smiled charmingly at his bride as she came to him, but his eyes had been on Nadia before that. He wanted to tear that gorgeous dress from her body right then and there, but that would have to wait until later. As they went through the proceedings, Alister said the words he had to, made the promises he should, and blessed Yasmin when she knelt to receive the Raevaryn crown. The gorgeous relic had belonged to all of the Raevryn queens, including his mother before. It had been forged by the famed queen Adamantia, the first queen of Raevaryn. And when it was all over, Alister placed a chaste, soft kiss on Yasmin's lips and turned to face the crowd, grinning widely, the picture of royalty. With the formalities over, it was time to rejoice and celebrate.

About halfway through the proceedings, a strange yet terrifyingly familiar feeling began to overcome Wolfgang. First, his heart rate had begun to increase to an unusual pace. Glistening beads of sweat had begun to drip down his forehead and onto his classic black suit. His mouth was growing drier by the minute and he swore, no matter how hard he tried to concentrate on the wedding, all he could hear was a faint ringing in his ears. It wasn't withdrawal symptoms- no, he knew what that felt like and he'd been clean for some time now. Was he having a heart attack? It had to be. He gazed toward the windows and stared directly into the beaming afternoon sun, as though desperately reminding himself that it was, in fact, daytime. And the wolf wasn't due to awaken for several weeks. Could Sasha's tampering have agitated the beast? All attention was drawn to the royal couple as the glorious crown was placed upon the Queen's head, but all Wolfgang could concentrate on was the horrifying pain beginning to spread through his limbs, like his blood was turning to fire. He had to get out of there. As soon as the couple's lips parted from the kiss, Wolfgang rose abruptly from his seat and stumbled into the middle of the aisle. He started to make a run for the door, but his legs gave out on him and he sprawled across the floor in the middle of the room as a monstrous, almost inhuman sound erupted from him.

Arabella, seated near Evolet as the princess's friend and a high-born member of Nethilor, was totally immersed in the beautiful ceremony. That is, until Wolfgang suddenly rose from his seat and shoved past her to the middle of the aisle. Initially, she was irritated and shocked by the total lack of courtesy toward the couple at the front of the room. As he collapsed and began screaming, she could only look on in horror.
Sebastian's attention had been largely focused on his brother throughout the ceremony; they'd seen little of one another over the last couple of months, and perhaps he was just being paranoid, but he thought something seemed off about Wolfgang. When Wolfgang suddenly rose, stumbled to the middle of the aisle, and began making that horrifying sound, Seb's skin prickled with the familiarity of the noise. For a moment, he felt paralyzed by what he knew was about to happen, but then he jerked out of his seat and started yelling, "Run! Run! Everyone get away from him!"
Bram, at the front of the room, didn't notice what was happening until Wolfgang began screaming and Seb was yelling for people to run. Confused, he glanced back to see the man lying on the floor, and he rose from his seat and took a step toward Alister, ready to protect his king if necessary.

Evolet's clapped and cheered as the regal Raevaryn couple officially wed, and as Yasmin took the crown. It was a beautiful moment. However, as Wolfgang rose, her attention turned to him. "Darling?" she questioned, but it was too late. He had already stumbled into the aisle, and she grabbed Arabella's arm in alarm. "What's happening?" She gasped, rising from her seat as the crowd began to murmur with sudden fear and disdain at the nobleman's display. Sebastian's scream broke through the air and she yanked Arabella up, her gaze frantically searching for her father.
Ari scowled and looked to Talion for guidance, but was already making her way toward the scene. "Get out, clear the way," she snapped at the people who were beginning to uncertainly head towards the doors. She shoved them through, and pushed her way towards Wolfgang. Wouldn't be the first time the eldest Van Dam had shown up drunk at a royal event.
Talion's head swiveled towards the commotion and he motioned Ari, Destrian, and the other guards forward. When Sebastian yelled 'run', he felt himself tense. The last thing they needed was a stampede. "Stay calm, everyone make your way out to the dining hall," he shouted, ordering people about as the commotion rose and rose. "Destrian, to the king!" He ordered, his voice thundering above the crowd.

No no no no no. Terrowin gasped and stood as Wolfgang stumbled down the aisle. This could not be happening, not now. As people began to rush and shout uncertainly, she heard Sebastian's warning above the din. She stumbled to Wolfgang's side, putting her hand on her back. "Get up, you have to get up. Please, Wolfgang. Not here," she pleaded, trying to heave him upright. If he turned in here, it would be a massacre. Her heart beat fast, her skin flushing with adrenaline and fear.
Poppy stood up abruptly as she was jostled from her spot, towards Wolfgang and Terrowin. The noble tried to step out of the way, fear beginning to cloud her eyes. "Evolet? Arabella?" She called, trying to make her way toward them.
Alister looked on in surprise as a sudden unexpected event occurred before his eyes. Wolfgang? He scowled, holding tight to Yasmin's hand, but his gaze searched out Nadia. "Go," he mouthed to her. Whatever was about to happen, his instincts told him it wouldn't be good. "Everyone, listen. Make your way to the dining hall, give the man some space," he bellowed, not thinking it was all that serious yet.
